![]() The lobby is a waiting area for you and your friends. Surgeon Simulator 2 is made with co-op in mind, and you can see that just from the lobby system they’ve created. The best thing about this game is that it rewards outside-the-box thinking, rather than limiting you to a specific path to complete a puzzle.īut, if you’re planning on getting this game to play solo, I’d highly advise against it. Playing by yourself and can’t seem to prevent Bob from losing too much blood? Use the crazy physics engine to rip out the limb and replace it in one swift motion. Can’t get an elevator working because you can’t find a fuze to power it? Layer some boxes and equipment over one another until you get to the top. In these moments, I’d recommend doing what I did get creative. There were, however, some moments when I didn’t know how I was meant to complete a puzzle, even when I knew what the end result of the puzzle would be. One might include pushing a ball through a small hole in the wall to activate a button on the other side, or removing Bob’s limbs or organs and placing them on a scale to unlock a door. The puzzles in this game are simple tasks, so don’t expect anything mind-boggling. Plenty of costumes and accessories to unlock to add to the replayability factor As you progress through the story, things get a little weird, but I won’t delve into the story further without spoiling it. A narrator (of sorts) named Pam trains anyone and everyone who wants to become a surgeon. ![]() You can play a variety of characters (mostly as an aesthetic thing, however) that are all surgeons in training as part of the Surgeon Simulator Program. With far more mechanics and a story to boot, there’s plenty of time to get stuck into this game. While Surgeon Simulator may have (mostly) had you move a single hand and play Operation on an unconscious dude going by the name Bob, the newest title goes far beyond that. I’ll tell you now, they did a fantastic job. But now, developer Bossa Studios have attempted to fix those issues that plagued the last game, and have recently released Surgeon Simulator 2. It was fun, but it was repetitive, and soon those 15 minutes of fame passed. ![]() For that reason, the game stuck as a trend for YouTubers to make extensive videos with and dominated the gaming community for the same length of time. The PS4 already makes streaming a simple affair, and adding a Camera so your viewers can watch your face is also easy. When the series first began under the title Surgeon Simulator, it centered around using terrible controls to do crazy things. So unless you're buying it for VR, we only recommend the PlayStation Camera if you regularly stream your gameplay. You're better off putting the money towards a better gaming headset instead. Having the system log you in automatically by facial recognition is neat, but if you're the only user on your PS4 it's a moot point.Īnd the voice commands for launching games and similar are available with any headset or microphone, so they're not a reason to pick up a Camera. ![]() The Playroom is a minor distraction that you probably won't spend much time with, and the games with Camera integration are both slim and underwhelming. If you're picking up the VR headset, make sure you either get a bundle or a Camera separately, because you must have it for VR.įor everyone else, it's tough to recommend the PlayStation Camera. It's safe to say the PS Camera is far from an essential PS4 accessory, unless you have PlayStation VR.
